Is your content just noise?

In this day and age there are so many businesses out there just blasting content across any channel they feel is necessary. The amount of times I have received emails from retailers, or had Facebook ads telling me about stuff that's TOTALLY irrelevant is just uncanny. AND... The amount of times the information is distributed is insane. To most people, this is considered as noise.

The last thing you want in your business is to have your content and advertising being blasted off to the incorrect audience at the incorrect time. Marketing is all about delivering the right content to the right audience, over the right channel at the right time. Sometimes its better to not send any content at all as what you are currently sending is being ignored, is costing money, taking up time and may be upsetting your customers or leads.

In order to avoid creating noise, and to distribute content that is relevant across the most meaningful channels, a proper marketing strategy needs to be developed as well as a deep understanding of your audience. Your marketing strategy should be focused on expansion and influence not just content sharing. One meaningful lead or opportunity is far more valuable than a thousand emails that land up in a junk mail folder.
