Every business owner, blogger or organisation covets website traffic above all else – more eyes on your website means that chances are higher of more people engaging with your product, writing or initiative. SEO – understand and implement good Search Engine Optimisation; this will involve making your content are as relevant as possible to those seeking your products or services – research appropriate keywords, create valuable content and craft captivating meta descriptions.
Content – write captivating, engaging content and visitors will return for more.
Guest post – this will really work if you blog on sites that are relevant to your audience so that you generate high-quality traffic.
Post on Medium.com and Reddit – the current ‘go to’ platforms for interesting marketing content; use them to create intuitive content marketing posts that also links back to your primary posts on your site or blog.
Email Marketing – newsletters are a great opportunity to point back to your website – use ‘em.
Publish on LinkedIn – LinkedIn's publishing platform is a great method for marketing the content that's already on your website.
Use hashtags in your social – people use hashtags as a way to streamline the influx of content on the internet; smart use of hashtags enables you to precisely target your ideal customer and expand your reach beyond your existing audience.
Use YouTube – exposure on YouTube could be huge; it’s the second most popular search engine in the world, so do what you can to create tutorial videos (or other content) that adds value to your brand on the hope that it’ll drive traffic to your site.
Use Infographics – create good ones that people can link to and you’ll see a burst in traffic.
Focus on mobile – as of October 2018, 52.2 per cent of all worldwide online traffic was generated through mobile phones, so if you’re serious about driving traffic then you need to ensure that your site is mobile-friendly.
Always remember: these things take time (so be patient!) and that traffic to your website is wonderful but if you’re not attracting your target audience then it’s pretty useless.
